Running Liberty BASIC Workshop
Close Liberty BASIC Workshop from the Files Menu, the System Close Button, or with Ctrl-Q. Settings for Liberty BASIC Workshop's position and size are saved on exit, and Liberty BASIC Workshop will open at this size and location when it is next run.
Toolbars
The top toolbar is for use with the code editor windows. The top toolbar contains a hot button that can be defined by the user to launch as many as 10 different applications. The toolbox on the left side is for use with the Gui Builder. Double-click the top toolbar to hide it. Click the X button on the gui toolbox to hide it. Both toolbars can be hidden or displayed by clicking their names in the Options Menu.
Statusbar
The first pane of the statusbar contains information pertinent to the operation at hand. When a file is opened, the size and date of the file are displayed. When one of the color-pick tools is used, the color values are displayed in the first pane.
When the GUI Builder is in use, the first pane of the statusbar will document the X,Y location of the active control.
The second pane is highlighted if the numlock key is in use. The third pane is highlighted if the capslock key is in use, and the fourth pane documents whether insert mode or typeover mode is active. The fifth pane contains the date and the sixth pane contains the time.
Tip of the Day
A Tip of the Day window appears by default at startup. It includes a check box to "Show tips at startup." Clear this box to stop the tip window from appearing automatically. Access the tip window at any time from the Options menu.
Windows
There are two types of windows.
The code editor windows are for code reading/writing/editing Liberty BASIC code. There may be many code windows open at one time.
The Gui Builder window is for the graphical setup/editing of the Graphical User Interface for a Liberty BASIC program. "GUI" is just a fancy way of naming the window and all of its controls. Only one Gui Builder window may be open at a time.
Drag and Drop
Multiple files may be chosen in Explorer or My Computer and dragged to Liberty BASIC Workshop. If they are dragged onto the Liberty BASIC Workshop icon when v Workshop is closed, it will open with each dragged file in its own window. If files are dragged onto the workspace of Liberty BASIC Workshop while it is open, they will each open in a separate code window.
